Greyhounds earn all-south baseball honors

PORTALES — New Mexico University junior outfielder Jereme Johnson and senior pitcher/first baseman Seth Clabaugh have been selected to the Second Team American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-South Central Region Team.

A Roswell High grad, Johnson led the Hounds in batting (.472), slugging (.656), on base percentage (.553), triples (4), and was second in runs scored (47) and stolen bases (16).

Clabaugh, who played at Portales High, posted a .343 batting average for the season with 12 doubles, six homers and 54 RBIs. His 18 multiple-hit games ranked third on the team.

He was 1-5 on the mound.
