Commissioners OK supplemental funding

Roosevelt County Commissioners approved supplemental funding for the Roosevelt General Hospital during a special meeting Wednesday at the county courthouse.

RGH Administrator James D’Agostino said with the supplemental sole community provider program, the county sends money to the state, which handles the paperwork, and the federal government provides a match.

“The government recalculates for all the states,” D’Agostino said.

Under the calculations, New Mexico hospitals that qualify are to split $2.4 million. The government will divide it among the nine eligible hospitals in the state.

“With the federal match, we’ll get $240,000 (total),” D’Agostino said.
