West Texas A&M scored twice in a four-minute span midway through the second half and rallied to beat Eastern New Mexico University 2-1 in a men’s Lone Star Conference soccer match Wednesday in Portales.

Aaron Thornton poked home the game-winner for the fifth-ranked Buffaloes on a through pass from Abel Olivas with 12 minutes left in the match. Nick Nielson tied the game at 1-1 a little more than three minutes earlier on a penalty kick.

Junior forward Emerson Rodrigues gave ENMU (10-5-2, 1-4 LSC) a 1-0 lead late in the first half with his 12th goal of the season.

WT (13-1-2, 3-0-2) owned a 19-9 edge in shots.
