Slinging mud

The Fifth annual Mud Volleyball Tournament is Saturday at Eastern New Mexico University starting at 10 a.m.

Five courts will be dug behind Lincoln Hall.

They also plan to play games well into the night under flood lights.

It’s free to watch.

Sneak peak

Today the Clovis High School Freshman Academy honor society and student council membrs are touring Texas Tech University to get a look at collegiate life.

Today in history

On April 28, 1967, boxing champion Muhammad Ali refused to be inducted into the U.S. Army and was immediately stripped of his heavyweight title.

Ali, a Muslim, cited religious reasons for his decision to forgo military service.
