The Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce is inviting the public to drop by the Roosevelt County Electric Cooperative at noon June 15 for an informal chat with the mayor, city council members and the city manager about important issues in the city.
Topics include the Ute Water Project, Cannon Air Force Base expansion, street renovations, Yam theater remodeling and anything else that’s on your mind.
Oliver Carl Neie, 88, of Corrales, a soil conservationist, cowboy and artist died at his home May 21.
Lots of cowpokes in eastern New Mexico and across the state knew Neie because they learned roping at his ranch.
Here, in part, is an unusual tribute to man shared by his family:
“Oliver won his last (rodeo) buckle at the age of 75…and had his last horse wreck at 84.”
Happy trails, Oliver.
