My turn: Not all fishing rules written

Clarence Plank

Does anyone know the unwritten rules of fishing?

Here are a few:

• Never cast out over someone else’s line in the water because your line could become entangled or snagged by your hook.

• Fighting over a fish isn’t worth it. There are plenty of fish in the ponds, lakes, streams, rivers and oceans of the world.

• If you’ve been out on the pond, lake, stream or river and notice that the other guy has caught a fish, don’t rush to crowd him. Just wait and inch closer, very slowly.

• Always remember to pack your fishing gear properly instead of leaving it in a mess. You never know when your in-laws may visit and warrant a sudden fishing trip.
