Good morning. It’s the Freedom New Mexico Thursday briefing.

Rummage for a cause

LaCasa Senior Center in Clovis is having a rummage sale.

Starts at 8 a.m. Friday.

Not only lots of good junk to rummage through and possibly buy — there will also be fresh bean or potato burritos on sale for $1 each.

Fair warning

Clovis police are setting up a sobriety checkpoint from 10 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday somewhere in the city.

Officers will be targeting and arresting drunk drivers.

Star gazing

Bring binoculars or telescopes to Oasis State Park for star gazing Saturday.

Local astronomer Mick Hoffman will guide you through the galaxy.

Starts 7:30 p.m. at the group shelter and while the show is free, park entrance fees apply.
