If you’re a basketball fan, check out the Gus Macker 3-on-3 tournament this weekend at Clovis Community College.

Tipoff is 8 a.m. Saturday and the games continue through Sunday in the east parking lots.

An Eastern New Mexico University off campus job fair is from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. today in the Sandia Room in CUB.

Art exhibit

The national juried art exhibition “Axiom of Gesture” is set to open Friday at Eastern New Mexico University.

The show features digital media portraying human progress.

Opening reception is set for 5-7 p.m. Friday, and the display is open through Sept. 29.

Today in history

On this day in 1998, the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 finally goes into effect.

The law required all cars and light trucks sold in the U.S. have air bags on both sides of the front seat.
