Book review: “Fly Fishing, Life, and Other Things I Have Tried”

Former Portales resident Joe Farr has written a humorous book about his fishing and RV experiences. Joe lived in Portales from 1973 to 1985. He opened his first KFC in Portales in 1974 and operated it until 1985. He also owned the KFC in Clovis from 1981 to 2007. He is now retired and lives in Ruidoso.

“Fly Fishing, Life, and Other Things I Have Tried” is a colorful collection of Farr’s misadventures while traveling and fly fishing in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. His ability to blend, his wry, sometimes sarcastic humor, along with some of the moving, poignant times of his life, make this a fun, enjoyable book to read.

So jump into your fishing waders, fasten your seat belt, and come along for this fun ride of “what the heck” adventures. The book is available at createspace.com/3460918 or amazon.com
