Church comes together for fiesta

PNT staff report

St. Helen Catholic Church fiesta continues today with live entertainment, games, a bouncy house, food and a auction from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The silent auction starts at 3 p.m., and all proceeds go toward the church community, different organizations and special church needs.

All events are held on church grounds at 1600 S. Ave. O.

Church officials said the 39th annual fiesta is a time to get together to celebrate a common faith with people from the community.

Food included menudo, carne asado, gorditas and more. Church officials said the fiesta is a time to feed the body as well as the spirit.

Events Saturday included a car show and live entertainment by Christian rapper Double “D” and the Folklorico Dancers.

The church is expecting about 2,500 to attend the four-day event that concludes today.
