Hounds suffer first loss in last five outings

St. Edward’s rallied for three second-half goals and beat Eastern New Mexico University 3-1 Sunday in a non-conference men’s soccer game in Portales.

Joeski Williams had a goal and an assist for the Hilltoppers (5-4), including the go-ahead score in the 81st minute to hand the Hounds (7-2-1) their first loss in five games.

Sophomore midfielder Kal Herbert scored his sixth goal of the season on a through pass from Andy Wilkinson to put the Hounds up 1-0 late in the first half.

ENMU, which entered the week ranked 17th in Division II, played No. 8 Incarnate Word to a 2-2 overtime tie Friday.
