Samplings of recent calls to Portales law enforcement, according to police records:

Wednesday

• About 10:35 a.m., a 65-year-old man spoke to an officer at Portales Police Department about the right rear cab window of his Ford F-150 being shot.

The man said he parked the truck in the 200 block of Oklahoma Drive about 4 p.m. Monday and noticed the window was broken about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The man suspected a pellet was used to shoot the window. No evidence was located.

• An officer responded to the 1900 block of South Avenue I about 11:30 a.m. on a report of an auto burglary.

A 29-year-old woman said someone broke into her Chevrolet Tahoe overnight and took two purses, three bags containing makeup and perfume, a wallet and a 12-inch portable television. The total value of the property was $440.

The vehicle had no signs of forced entry. The officer noted it appeared the suspect was in a hurry and took only what was easily accessible.

The case is inactive due to lack of suspect information.
