Police are asking for help finding a man accused of shooting at his girlfriend’s parked car while her child was sitting inside.

Narcizo Soto Jr., 34, is charged with two counts of assault against a household member, shooting from or into a motor vehicle, abuse of a child, felon in possession of a firearm and other misdemeanor crimes associated with the incident, court records show.

Soto’s girlfriend and the mother of his child drove to the police department just after midnight Feb. 26 after she said he shot at her car, according to information contained in a police report.

The woman said she was standing outside her vehicle and her 8-year-old child was seated in the passenger seat when Soto pulled up beside her and fired two rounds into the driver’s side of her car and drove away, the report said.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Further investigation by police revealed after fleeing the scene, Soto crashed his vehicle in the 1400 block of Fourth Street and fled on foot, leaving his car behind.

Soto is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds with gray and black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call police at 763-9470 or callers can remain anonymous by calling Curry County Crime Stoppers at 763-7000. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
