Hometown favorite Hank Baskett has become a website favorite in the Athlebrity Madness tournament.

The site asks you to vote for your favorite pro football player who blends athleticism and celebrity — Athlebrity.

Baskett send Mark Sanchez packing by garnering 54 percent of the vote in the first round.

Ribbon cutting

The Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon cutting 10 a.m. today to celebrate the opening of the Terry Young Insurance Agency at 716 E. Tierra Blanca.

HOME meeting

The monthly United Way of Eastern New Mexico HOME meeting is 9 a.m. Thursday at The Master’s Center.

Non-profits and other community groups meet to acquaint and re-acquaint each other with services offered, available or needed

Step back in time

The Wheatland School Reunion is set to begin at 8 a.m. May 28 in the Grady Senior Citizens Building.

Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish for lunch, and donations are to be taken to cover the rent of the building.
