Moms Gear: The Bobble filtered water bottles allows you to fill up without fear

Emilie Lucchesi

Many moms carry reusable water bottles instead of buying disposable containers. Refilling water bottles at a public fountain or sink is generally a convenient and clean experience. But not-so tasty water sometimes flows from park district or outdoor fountains. Using a filtered bottle can help remove impurities and improve taste.

The Bobble is a water bottle made from recycled plastic that has a filter attached to the mouth piece. Water passes through an activated carbon filter right before it is sipped and the negative ions of the contaminates are drawn into the filter.

Each filter is expected to last for 300 refills and replacement filters can be purchased separately.

Moms should take note _ the Bobble can only be hand washed and it cannot be placed in the freezer. The Bobble is also made of a thin plastic and placing it at the bottom of a diaper bag may be problematic.

The 13oz. bottle is $8.95, 18.5 ounce is $9.95 and the one liter bottle is $12.95. A family pack with one of each size is $31.85. Replacement filters can be purchased separately.
