Inkblot art featured on show

Information on making inkblot butterflies and a crayon roll will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon Thursday.

Margaret Peot is an author, artist and painter, and she is going to show how to make inkblot butterflies that can be mounted in a shadowbox or in a frame for display. She lives in New York City.

Sewing instructor Nancy Lovett will show how to make crayon rolls, which hold a basic 16 pack of crayons or markers and even colored pencils. These items make great gifts and are a good way to keep the kids entertained when traveling. Lovett is from Albuquerque.

Information on making wreaths, making covers for folding chairs and spicing up food will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at noon Tuesday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Joyce Welch, a very talented homemaker from Portales, will show how to make a variety of wreaths that can be enjoyed year ‘round. Many of these are personalized for the recipient.

Pat de Santis of Wrights will show how to make attractive covers for ordinary metal folding chairs using paint, appliques, trims and ribbons. She’s from West Warren, Mass.

Cookbook author Marcie Rothman will demonstrate how to spice up food, as well as share some fast cooking techniques. Her company is Five-Spot Press, and she’s from San Diego, Calif.
