Texico senior wins milk scholarship

Texico High School senior Fallon Scanlan won a 2011 Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year Award, according to a news release.

The award comes with a $7,500 college scholarship.

Each year, the National Milk Mustache “got milk?” campaign and USA Today recognizes 25 outstanding high school senior student athletes who represent excellence in academics, athletics, community service and leadership and include milk in their diets, the release said.

Scanlan will also attend a weekend of events in Disney World with her family.

All of the winners will star in a special Milk Mustache ad in USA Today on June 24.
