The 41st annual Pioneer Days begins today in Clovis with the start of the PRCA Rodeo at the Curry County Events Center.
Nightly events will be ongoing with the Pioneer Days Parade taking place at 10 a.m. Saturday on Main Street. The parade theme for this year is “Celebrating the Fun and Fabulous 70s.”
Pioneer Days celebrates tradition, heritage and the pioneer spirit of the area.
Throughout the week Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant activities will be ongoing.
Friday ENMR Plateau will host the 10th Pioneer Women’s Breakfast and quilt show at the Clovis Civic Center. Local women are invited to attend the breakfast and encouraged to wear vintage clothing.
Each night rodeo events will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Friday night’s rodeo will be centered on the theme “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Nightly rodeo general admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Joe’s Boot Shop, OneStop Feed, Bender Automotive, The Clovis-Curry County Chamber of Commerce and Bar-G Western Wear in Portales. Tickets are also available at the events center with reserved seating for $20 and preferred seating for $15. Children 5 and under are admitted free.

5:15 p.m. — Mayor’s Proclamation, north annex of Clovis-Carver Public Library
7:30 p.m. — 41st Annual PRCA Rodeo, Curry County Events Center, Slack following performance
7 a.m. — 10th Annual Pioneer Women Breakfast and Quilt Show, Clovis Civic Center
8 a.m. — Pioneer Days Rodeo Slack
9:30 a.m. — Rodeo Queens & Bullfighter/Clowns Annual Tour of area nursing homes and PRMC followed by lunch
1:00 p.m. — Miss Rodeo New Mexico fashion show, speech, coronation, Clovis Community College Town Hall. $10 admission, open to the public.
7 p.m. — Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant announcement of royalty, Curry County Events Center
7:30 p.m. — 41st Annual PRCA Rodeo, Curry County Events Center. ‘Tough Enough to Wear Pink’ night for breast cancer awareness.
