PNT staff report

James Buchanan, 70, of Lubbock was in serious but stable condition at a Lubbock hospital Saturday after his three-wheeled motorcycle left the road and crashed through a fence in Roosevelt County, according to Sheriff Darren Hooker.

The crash happened about 5:30 p.m. Friday on New Mexico 202 near Portales.

Buchanan was the only person riding the vehicle.

Hooker said the cause of the accident is unknown but an investigation is pending. He said officers hope to speak to the victim next week.
