Monday morning briefing: Growth issues, special meeting and no more Route 66

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Monday briefing.

Growing issues

The Local Growth Management Committee meets 2 p.m. Wednesday at Portales City Hall.

The agenda includes a closeout report on goals achieved from an initial planning grant.

The committee meets periodically to consider any growth issues associated with the mission at Cannon Air Force Base.

Special meeting

The Clovis City Commission meets in special session 5:15 p.m. Monday at City Commission Chambers.

The agenda includes approval of election workers for the Aug. 2 referendum and a street closings for the annual July 4 Smoke on the Water fireworks display.
