Samplings of recent call to Portales law enforcement, according to police records:

Friday

• An officer responded to an auto burglary call at midnight in the 400 block of north Avenue K. A man said a car stereo was stolen from his 1993 Jeep. He said he went inside his friend’s house for 15 minutes and when he returned, the stereo was missing. He placed the value of the stereo at $100. There were no signs of forced entry.

Sunday

• At approximately 11:38 a.m., an officer responded to an auto burglary call at the 2300 block of Santa Domingo Court. A man said sometime between 10 p.m. Aug. 22 and 11 a.m. Sunday, someone gained entry into his 2004 Ford Expedition. The man said the offender took his Tom Tom GPS unit and an XM radio charging cord, valuing the items at a total of $215. The case is inactive pending.

• A man reported a stolen motorcycle about 1:30 p.m., saying his 2007 Harley-Davidson was taken sometime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Monday

• At 11 a.m., an officer responded to an auto burglary call at the 600 block of east 17th Street.

The resident told the officer he went to his vehicle at 10:30 p.m. the previous evening and noticed the faceplate to the car stereo had been stolen. The man was unsure of the time frame for the burglary because he had not been out to the vehicle in three days. No evidence was found of a suspect and there had been no forced entry. The case is currently inactive.
