PNT staff report
Repairs to a ruptured natural gas line in Portales were completed as of 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to a New Mexico Gas Company official.
The pipe was broken at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on Boston Avenue, which led Portales police to evacuate four homes and a daycare center as a precautionary measure.
Monica Hussey of New Mexico Gas Company said Wednesday workers replaced the damaged section of the pipe. She said repairs to the road should be completed by Friday.
