Samplings of recent calls made to Portales law enforcement, according to Police reports:


Sept. 16

• At 7:49 a.m., an officer responded to a vehicle burglary. A woman said she was leaving her house at 7 a.m. when she noticed someone had gained entry into her car. She said it would have been between midnight and 6:30 a.m. She said wallets were taken from the vehicle.

Her wallet was later recovered with a debit card missing. She said her husband’s wallet had a debit card and $150 in cash.

A call that a wallet had been found in the bed of a pickup truck came in at 6:30 a.m. The burglarized vehicle was dusted for fingerprints.
