Police blotter — Oct. 16

Samplings of recent calls to Portales law enforcement, according to police reports:

Tuesday

• At 12: 17 p.m., officers responded to a fight in progress at Morrison Park. A juvenile male told an officer that he and another individual had been fighting over talking to the police about spray painting buildings all over town.

Another officer made contact with the other man, who also admitted to fighting. The second man said the first man pulled out a knife, but the first man said he pulled the knife because he thought the surrounding individuals were also going to jump him. He said he did not threaten anyone with the knife. Both parties were released to their parents’ custody.

• At 3:54 p.m., the department was contacted by a woman who wanted to report a battery. The woman told officers her boyfriend slapped her on the face while at a party at a friend’s house on Sept. 24. She told officers she reported the incident to the base on the following Wednesday. She said her boyfriend admitted to base officials that he slapped her and the base imposed a no contact order on both she and her boyfriend but did no enforcement, because the incident happened away from the instillation.

The woman said she wanted to press charges against the man and she had a list of individuals who were present at the party. The officer explained to the woman that he would contact each individual for an interview then contact the district attorney. There was no evidence submitted. The investigation is ongoing.
