My turn: ENMU presents gift of music

Friday evening Eastern New Mexico University presents its most beautiful annual gift to our community, wrapped in a treble clef and topped with a sleigh bell: The Holiday Concerts in the University Theater Center.

In back-to-back free identical performances that begin at 6:30 and 8 p.m., choir director Jason Paulk and band director Dustin Seifert, along with more than 100 singers and 75 or so musicians, are offering a smorgasbord of Christmas music, ranging from “Ave Maria” to “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” and from a narrated version of “The Night Before Christmas” to the traditional sing-along and whip-popping finale of Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.”
