Household members: 5
Children: 3 (ages 8, 4 and 2)
Special circumstance: The family is currently between jobs, and when the father can pick up a job he usually gets 1-40 hours. The mother is still working.
Clothing needs: Girls clothes size 9 in juniors and shoes size 5 1/2, clothes size 6 and shoes size 8 and clothes size 2 and shoe size 6.
Toys list: Girl, 8, wants a CD player or a bike; girl, 4, wants a nurses set or a bike and girl, 6, wants kitchen set.
The Empty Stocking Fund is a joint effort of the Salvation Army and Freedom New Mexico. Recipients receive gifts and clothes for their children, and around 300 seniors are given meals on Christmas Day.
Who’s helped: Around 300 families who’ve asked the Salvation Army to help make Christmas special.
Donations: Can be dropped off at the PNT, 101 E. First St., or mailed to P.O. Box 848, Portales, NM 88130. Envelopes should be clearly marked “Empty Stocking Fund.” Checks must be payable to “The Salvation Army.”
Contributions will be forwarded to the Salvation Army office, 317 E. Second St., Clovis, or gifts may be purchased for specific children or seniors by choosing an Angel tag off trees located at North Plains Mall and Walmart in Clovis.
