Police blotter — Dec. 21

Samplings of recent calls to Portales law enforcement, according to police reports:

Friday

• At 7:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Portales High School gym in reference to graffiti.

The officer observed four building were marked. The computer lab building had a W on the east wall; the second building was brick and had a drawing of male genitals; the third building was the daycare facility, which had the word CATS written on the south side; and the fourth building also had a drawing of male genitals.

The principal informed officers that he took pictures of the graffiti and he would obtain security tapes from the areas of grafitti. He also told officers that Clovis High School had been tagged earlier in the week with PHS 2013 on their buildings.

He said someone from the Clovis high school was helping him to identify the handwriting.

The case is pending.

• At 2:49 p.m., an officer responded to South Avenue C in reference to a battery. A woman was sitting on the front porch of her residence crying. The officer observed a scratch mark on the left side of her face and on her forehead and there was a clump of hair next to her on the bench, which she told the officer was hers.

The woman told the officer she was in bed sleeping when her sister came into her residence and attacked her while she was in bed. She said her sister scratched her and pulled her hair and yelled at her that she was angry because she had spread rumors about her sister’s emergency room visit the night before.

She told officers where her sister lived but said she did not wish to press charges. She asked officers to give her sister a no trespass notification if they made contact with her.

Officers were unable to make contact with the woman’s sister but placed a close watch on the victim’s house for the remainder of the evening.
