Library preschool storytime features it’s Hip to be Square at 6 p.m.

Kitchen tip

A dampened paper towel or terry cloth brushed downward on a cob of corn will remove corn silk.

It’s a fact

On July 18, 1936, the first Oscar Mayer Wienermobile rolled out of General Body Company’s factory in Chicago. The Wienermobile still tours the U.S. today.

On this day in 1978, Barbra Streisand’s “Love Theme from A Star Is Born (Evergreen)” and Debby Boone’s “You Light Up My Life” were awarded the Best Song Grammy — the first and only tie in that category in Grammy history.
