In Portales, it's from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Roosevelt County Events Center on the fairgrounds.

Free music

The Clovis-Portales Community Orchestra Spring Concert is 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 1501 Sycamore.

It's a concert blending classical and Irish folk music.

Admission is free.

Kitchen tip

To avoid tears, cut onions into two parts and place them in water for 15 minutes before chopping.

It's a fact

Limelight was how stages were lighted before electricity. Illumination was produced by heating blocks of lime until they glowed.
