Good morning and welcome to the Thursday briefing.

Books cheap

The Friends of the Clovis-Carver Library offer good books cheap at their sale, beginning Saturday and continuing through next week during library hours.

Meetings watch

The Clovis City Commission meets at 5:15 p.m. today at city hall.

Curry County Commissioners meet at 4 p.m. Friday at the Clovis-Carver Public Library north annex.

Both meetings are open to the public.

Art on display

A Superstition exhibition continues all day, each day until April 27 at ENMU's Runnels Gallery.

It is a national juried illustration exhibit, featuring illustrations that offer personal narratives surrounding superstition and irrational fears.

Free and open to the public.

Kitchen tip

Place overripe tomatoes in cold water and add some salt. Overnight they will become firm and fresh.
