Clovis man stable after shooting

Clovis police are investigating a shooting Friday morning on Hull Street that hospitalized a Clovis man with a leg wound.

At 4 p.m. Friday, David Garcia, 36, was in stable condition at Plains Regional Medical Center, according to the press release. No arrests had been made at that time.

According to the press release:

  • Garcia was involved in a verbal altercation about 9 a.m. with a man he knew on the back steps of the victim's residence at 915 Hull St. The man pulled a gun and shot Garcia in the lower leg.
  • No one was found in the house and a motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
