ENMU’s Wolfe named academic All-America

Senior first baseman-designated hitter Mitch Wolfe has been chosen to the first-team Capital One Academic All-America team for the 2012 season.

Wolfe, from Litchfield, Ariz., had been a two-time All-District 6 choice for the academic squad and was a three-time Lone Star Conference all-academic honoree. To be eligible for the Capital One honor, a player must be a key player for his team and carry a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.

On the field, Wolfe hit .306 for the Greyhounds in 2012, with a 16 doubles, a team-high four home runs and 26 RBIs and hitting streaks of 11 and 12 games. He finished his career at ENMU ranked fourth in hits (197), doubles (44) and RBIs (26).
