ENMU women 4th, men 9th at Clarendon rodeo

CLARENDON, Texas — Freshman Macy Davenport helped the Eastern New Mexico University women's rodeo team finish fourth with 155 points in the Clarendon College Rodeo over the weekend, finishing fourth in breakaway roping and fifth in barrel racing.

Davenport was second in the first go of breakaway roping and fifth in the first go and short go in barrels for the Zias. Junior TiAda Gray split fourth and fifth in the short go of breakaway roping.

The ENMU men were ninth with 135 points, with freshman Cade Passig teaming with Tarleton State's Chase Williams to split first and second in team roping.

South Plains College won the men's team title with 635 points to 435 for Vernon College, while Tarleton took women's team honors with 425 to 333 1/3 for Texas Tech.

It was the final rodeo of the fall for ENMU squads.
