Though no reminder is necessary, Tuesday is election night across the United States.
The world-renowned Ying Quartet will perform 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Clovis Community College Town Hall.
It is so in Clovis, as well, but the Ying Quartet will also make it an evening of music.
The quartet, made of of three siblings and a violinist, will hold a classical music show 7 p.m. Tuesday at Clovis Community College's Town Hall.
Tickets are $17 for general admission and $12 for students/military/senior citizens, and are available at the Clovis Community College Cashier's Window, the Clovis-Curry County Chamber of Commerce or at the door depending on availability.
The quartet includes Janet Ying and Phillip Ying, both violinists; David Ying, a cellist; and Ayano Ninomiya, a violinist. They have played throughout the world during their 20 years together, including Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House.
Serving as an in-residence quartet at the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester in New York, the group teaches and tours. They created the group in 1988 while attending school there, with sibling Timothy Ying part of the original quartet.
The group won a 2005 Grammy award for a collaborative recording with the Turtle Island String Quartet, and have been nominated for two other Grammy awards in addition to a 1993 Naumburg Chamber Award.
