Clovis and Portales residents woke to a white Christmas Tuesday morning as the area was sprinkled in less than one inch of snow overnight.
Snowfall at the Clovis Municipal Airport began around 2 a.m. Tuesday and stopped around 7 a.m., according to Mark Fettig, a general forecaster at the National Weather Service, Albuquerque.
There were no traffic accidents reported in Curry and Roosevelt counties, according to New Mexico State Police and local law enforcement.
Fettig said no storm systems will affect the area the remainder of the week.
Today and Thursday will be clear but cold and windy across much of New Mexico, with a chance of snow in northern and northwestern parts of the state later in the week.
The weather forecast for Clovis and Portales for the rest of the week is sunny with the high temperatures ranging from the mid-40s to low 50s, according to AccuWeather.com.
