My Turn: ‘Superman’: Good mix of action, story

The new Superman movie “Man of Steel” was worth seeing in the theater. It will definitely appeal to action-loving, male audience members.

But more than just action-packed, the movie had the best story line than any other Superman movie I’ve seen before.

I have not seen all of the previously made non-animated Superman movies, but from the ones I have seen, I would definitely say I felt this one gave a much stronger background on Krypton and what happened to the planet and its people.

About the first 15 minutes of the movie was dedicated to telling Krypton’s story and if you didn’t start very early with Superman comic books and so on, it’s nice to have that reference and gain some insight.

I also appreciated the flashbacks Clark had to his childhood throughout the movie. They also gave insight into Clark and his human parents and how he and his powers developed over time.

Overall, a great film with a good mix of excellent action, story line and acting. And a plus to the film is that leading actor Henry Cavill is easy on the eyes. OK, maybe that’s just a plus for us ladies.
