The last suspect wanted in connection with a drug trafficking sting is in custody.
Abran Baeza, 22, of Portales was arrested without incident Tuesday afternoon at a residence in the 1500 block of South Roosevelt Road 3, according to the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Department.
Baeza was among 17 Portales residents accused in warrants issued in May of selling small amounts of methamphetamine to an informant, according to court documents.
Ten people were arrested May 23 following a four-month investigation.
Baeza is being held without bail at the Roosevelt County Detention Center, according to a jail official. He is charged with trafficking a controlled substances (by distribution), failure to comply with conditions of probation, and battery against a household member.
Sheriff’s office deputies found Baeza after his girlfriend called 911, alleging he had battered her, according to sheriff’s office press release. Deputies arrived and found Baeza hiding in the brush underneath several trees, the release said.
