The Curry County Board of Commissioners met Friday in a special meeting at the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Library. During the meeting:
- The commission approved various county road projects totaling $465,420. The New Mexico Department of Transportation will provide 75 percent of the funds with the county paying 25 percent, or $116,355 toward the projects.
- The commission approved an agreement with BNSF Railways for a railroad grade crossing closure for the County Road R grade closing. As part of the agreement, BNSF will pay $50,000 to the county to eliminate the crossing and the county will install and maintain permanent barriers.
County Road R, which runs alongside the western boundary of Cannon Air Force Base, was permanently closed to traffic earlier this summer.
- The commission approved a $23.5 million operating budget for the 2013/2014 fiscal year.
