Area road construction and closure information for this week:
City of Clovis
The work zone for the Norris Street Roadway Improvement Project will be expanding this week. The road will be closed from Sam Snead Place to Wilhite Road. Residents currently using Colonial Parkway and Raintree Boulevard will need to seek an alternate route. The first phase of the construction will be open in two weeks pending weather.

Curry County Road Department will be preparing Curry Road D from N.M. 523 to Curry Road 14 for chip seal. The department will also be installing culverts at Curry Road 12 and Curry Road E. Be aware of workers and heavy equipment in those areas.
Curry County Road Department is still shredding bar ditches around the county and patching potholes. Observe all posted speed limits and use extreme caution around areas where workers are present.
State and Federal
Work continues on road replacement and installation on U.S. 70 in downtown Portales. Constructors Inc. will began removing asphalt on First Street between Avenue B and Avenue C, on Second Street in front of the businesses, and from Avenue A to Boston Street. Expect the temporary closure of Main Street off of Third Street with no through traffic onto Main Street. Expect some congestion in this area. This closure will remain in effect for the month of August.
