Sophomore Lrissa Cobos scored two goals and Roswell High beat Portales 3-0 Tuesday in a non-district girls soccer match at PHS.

The Lady Coyotes (4-5) outshot Portales 12-5. Jasmin Vega made nine saves for the Lady Rams (3-4).

Cobos and freshman midfielder staked Roswell High to a quick 2-0 lead with goals in the first 10 minutes, and Cobos added her second tally in the second half.

“That’s a good little team,” Portales coach Sara Vasquez said of Roswell. “We have to come out ready to play and believe we can compete with anybody we play.”

Both PHS squads return to action on Saturday with District 2/1A-3A matches at St. Michael’s. The girls play first at 11 a.m.
