Woman treated for minor injuries after wreck

A 54-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries Friday after she was hit by a Sport Utility Vehicle at Seventh and Main streets in Clovis.

Clovis Police Capt. Patrick Whitney said the woman, whose name was not immediately released, was crossing Seventh Street north bound when she was hit by a silver/gray SUV that was turning from southbound Main Street onto eastbound Seventh.

Whitney said a female adult was driving the SUV. The pedestrian was struck “in or near the crosswalk in the eastbound lanes,” he said.

Whitney said the pedestrian was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center, where she was treated for rib and arm injuries.

She was expected to be released from the hospital on Friday, Whitney said.

The investigation is expected to be completed and a report issued early next week, he said.
