Two prosecutors with District Attorney Matt Chandler’s office were recently recognized for special achievements by the New Mexico State Bar Association, according to a press release from Chandler.
Deputy District Attorney Brian Stover was recognized for prosecutorial excellence in the category of “Drug” prosecution. Assistant District Attorney Troy Oliver was recognized for prosecutorial excellence in the category of “Children’s Court Prosecutor,” the release said.
Stover, a prosecutor for 14 years, obtained indictments against more than 40 defendants for drug trafficking as part of Operation Melting Snow, conducted by the Region V Drug Task Force, the release said.
Oliver oversees the Abolish Chronic Truancy program for Chandler and conducts school assemblies each year throughout Curry and Roosevelt counties while maintaining a full caseload, according to the release.
