The Elida Tigers, three-time defending Class B state champions, cruised to the District 2-B tournament championship on Fridsy with a 25-8, 25-12, 25-11 rout of San Jon at Elida.
Elida (20-1) will begin defense of its title on Thursday in state pool play at Rio Rancho. The finals are on Saturday.
“We’re excited and ready to go,” Lady Tigers coach Darrell Chenault said. “The girls are serving as well as they have all year, and hitting as well as they have.”
The Lady Coyotes (12-7) were also second in regular-season district play.
State pairings are slated to be announced today by the NMAA.
