Two sentenced to prison for drug trafficking

A Clovis man and a Portales man have been convicted of drug trafficking and sentenced to prison, according to a press release from District Attorney Matt Chandler.

Sergio James, 35, of Clovis, was sentenced Thursday to 18 years in prison after a jury convicted him in December 2012 of trafficking cocaine — his second felony drug trafficking conviction, according to the release.

Charles Lopez, 27, of Portales, was convicted by a jury and sentenced Thursday to three years in prison for trafficking methamphetamine, the release said.
