Club notes — March 2

Altrusa Club of Portales

The Altrusa Club of Portales met Feb. 24 in the Board Room at the Central Annex

President Linda Leaming called the meeting to order. Opening ceremonies were conducted. Minutes from Feb. 10 were approved with one correction.

Seventeen members and three guests were present.

Sharon Smith drew for the Queen of Hearts, and Secret Pals were thanked.

The president reminded everyone that there will no meeting on March 10 to spring break.

The next meeting is March 24.

The service committee and the literacy committee met after the meeting.

Lori Ribble, membership chair, announced that three initiations will be conducted April 28.

Bette Martinez and Cathy Rankin gave an update on the Char-i-Tea.

Following the meeting, Sheryl Borden introduced Jordan Terry, who talked about Adventures in Mission and her time in Kharkov, Ukraine.

The president presented her with a certificate of appreciation following the program.


Beta Phi

Five members and one guest attended the Beta Phi Social Feb. 15 at Roma’s Italian Restaurant in Clovis.

Everybody enjoyed a wonderful lunch.

Collene Baldwin, Sandy Heath, Laura Loflin, Royce and Patsy Lorenz and Beverly Miller were present.
