Roosevelt County Commission
Roosevelt County commissioners are scheduled to award a contract for chip seal aggregate and approve a resolution supporting Legislative priorities of the New Mexico Association of Counties on Tuesday.
Their meeting is set to begin at 9 a.m. at the L.C. Cozzens Administrative Offices, 501 S. Abilene.
Commissioners are expected to hear a recommendation accepting the bid from Stephens Construction and Ready Mix Inc. of Texico to furnish chip seal aggregate, a pavement surface, to the county at a price of $19.80 per ton.
Stephens’ was one of three bids received and was the lowest of those meeting requirements, according to the Commission agenda.
Commissioners will also be asked to approve a resolution from NMAC on legislative priorities that include
• Remove counties’ responsibilities to fund Medicaid, and the Safety Net Care Pool, and consider the consolidation of some existing county local option gross receipts tax increments.
• Restore County Detention Facilities Reimbursement Act funding.
• Study housing options and service delivery for detention inmates with special medical and mental health needs.
