Altrusa Int’l. Inc. of Portales met March 9 in the Sandia Room at ENMU.

Various members were recognized who had worked on projects since the last meeting. These included Nancy Legleiter, Lori Bohm and members who helped deliver Meals on Wheels.

 Beverly Bennett read the proposed slate of officers for 2009-2010: President, Nancy Legleiter; vice president, Donna Mowrer; secretary, Sheryl Borden; treasurer, Mandi Park; directors, Joanna Baker and Sue Bracksieck. 

Linda Yeast volunteered to serve as Secret Pal Chair for the coming year. 

Donna Bond introduced Nicole Wilkening, city community affairs coordinator, who talked about the MainStreet program.

Gaynelle Thomas, Beverly Bennett, Sheryl Borden and Dannah Brown conducted an initiation ceremony for Monica Gonzales, Janemarie Hilling and Mary Newell.

The next meeting will be on March 23 at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, and the Service Committee will provide lunch. The program will be on dollhouses by the Rev. Jeff Symond.
