Test schedules
This past week students finished their math, language arts, and reading MAPS tests. Monday and Tuesday will find them completing the science portion of this self-assessment. The students have a little break before the master their second quarter tests on Thursday and Friday. They prepare then for the semester tests Dec. 16-17.
Dance Friday
Sponsor Sara Bulls and her student council are preparing for a Winter Wonderland Dance Friday. Open to PJHS students only, admission is $3. Hours are from 7-11 p.m. in the junior high cafeteria.
Music Tuesday
Both Cindy Stone, band director, and Franklin Smith, choir director, have been leading their students into festive holiday music as they prepare for their concert Tuesday at the high school performing arts center. The first number begins at 7 p.m., so make sure to get there early and have a good seat.
Basketball events
Monday — all four of the boys’ teams head to Clovis for games at Yucca. They fill both gyms.
Tuesday — the girls’ seventh and eighth grade “A” teams host Santa Rosa while both of the boys’ “A” teams bus to Santa Rosa for games.
Thursday all four of the girls’ teams head to Clovis to play the Yucca girls on their home court.
Sports pictures
Thursday finds the basketball teams posing for their official sports pictures. Jon Birdsong, working with the photographer, knows that memories will be kept alive in the group pictures and in the yearbook.
Honor Band Performs in Hobbs
Friday and Saturday find students singled out to perform with the district honor band in Hobbs.
