Information on using a circular embroidery tool, incorporating children’s artwork in quilts, and Japanese tailoring techniques will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at noon  Tuesday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Sewing instructor Carol Bell will show how to use a circular embroidery tool on the sewing machine to create some interesting techniques on garments. She represents Ann Silva’s Bernina Sewing Center in Albuquerque.

Quilting expert Maggie Ball will show how to use children’s artwork on fabric to create unique quilts. Her company is Dragonfly Quilts, and she’s from Bainbridge Island, Wash.

Sewing expert Judy Barlup will demonstrate the Japanese tailoring method, which allows for shape to be built into the garment. Her company is Unique Techniques in Bellevue, Wash.

Information on new flavor twists for pasta, sewing on sheer fabrics and making lace by machine will be the featured topics on “Creative Living”  at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon Thursday.

Home economists Roxanne Wyss and Kathy Moore will demonstrate some new flavor twists for ordinary pasta. They are with Williams Foods Inc. in Lenexa, Kan.

Becky Hanson, education manager with the Singer Sewing Co. in LaVergne, Tenn., knows first-hand that sewing on sheer fabrics — like organza, chiffon and tulle — can be very challenging. She’ll show how to stabilize these fabrics, and explain which needles, threads and stitches work best.

Laura Waterfield will show how to take embroidery “beyond the hoop.” Individual pieces of lace are sewn with an embroidery machine and zigzag-stitched together to create yokes that can be used on garments or on home decor items. She is the owner of Laura’s Sewing Studio in Tomball, Texas.

Cook pasta according to package directions in boiling, salted water; drain. Blend Williams Spaghetti Sauce Mix into boiling water; stir to dissolve, and then allow to stand 1 to 2 minutes. Stir spaghetti sauce mixture into dressing. Place cooked pasta, chicken and vegetables in salad bowl. Drizzle with spaghetti sauce-dressing mixture and toss to coat.
