Weekend full of local activities
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Take your pick. There is something for everyone’s taste from bucking broncos to cowboy poetry to contemporary music beginning Thursday at the Nara Visa Cowboy Gathering.
The long-weekend’s festivities begin with a contemporary music concert by Curt Collins.
Collins’ current single, “Another Day,” is the title track of his new CD, from which he will sing selections beginning at 7 p.m. today at Trinity Baptist Church. The concert is free, though organizers say an offering of love will be taken during the show.
Collins is appearing through a tour that takes him through New Mexico and Arizona throughout September.
On Friday, the tempo picks up again with the Tucumcari Heritage Dayze and Centennial Celebration at the Tucumcari Historical Museum.
Events begin at noon on Friday and range from Ed Montana to the Pollen Trail Dancers to “Jack Thorp’s Songs of the Cowboys” by Mark Gardner and Rex Rideout.
